Blog 107 – Origins

Over the course of my life, I was in a constant state of emotional and psychological turmoil. I grew up within a dysfunctional family as a result of the personal challenges my parents faced in their own lives. Needless to say, their problems seriously impacted on my life. As a young person I was overwhelmed by my need to come to terms with my sexual orientation while living within a hostile environment that criminalized same-s3x relationships. To survive in this world, it became absolutely necessary for me to repress and deny my s3xual feelings and maintain a complete cover of secrecy. The resulting trauma of having to live a secret life, culminated in the development of serious mental health conditions that manifested as depression, a severe anxiety disorder, and constant distress with accompanying periodic panic attacks.

As the years progressed, I was able to gain some relief from my symptoms by taking prescribed medications while consuming large amounts of alcohol. As a result of these interventions, I became addicted to both the medications and the alcohol. My attempt to alleviate my emotional pain created even bigger issues for me. On the outside, I maintained a false identity by masking who I really was while hiding my feelings from all those I cared about or encountered. I felt this course of conduct was necessary for my own safety and protection. I ended up living a lie to survive. On the inside, I was an emotional and psychological wreck. My life was a mess. I knew somewhere within myself that I needed to come to terms with the issues that my life presented me with. I soon discovered how difficult it was to deal with all of my life challenges alone. Over the course of my life journey, I was led to discover that I was not alone. Supernatural forces were present with me quietly influencing the course that my life would take. As I progressed in my spiritual journey I became more and more aware of my real identity and my relationship to The Divine Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This ongoing relationship with God has led to my healing and my role as a support and encouragement for you.
