Blog 135 – Step up for Change

It is quite apparent by all that is transpiring in our world today that our system of governance is not working for the vast majority of humanity. Many of our political and corporate leaders present themselves as greedy, self interested, power hungry, and obsessed with control over others. These leaders cannot help but create conflict, separation and division within our communities and across our world. Too many of our brothers and sisters are living in severe poverty, have inadequate housing or are homeless, are starving to death due to a lack of food and potable water, have no medical services available to them and are living in extremely violent and life threatening environments.

Billions of us profess to follow the teachings of the Spiritual Masters representing all of the faith traditions. None of these Masters have advocated in their teachings the manner in which we currently treat each other in our world today. It is clear, we as individuals and as a community of believers have lost our way. Jesus’s instructions to all of His followers were very straight forward. In Matthew 25, Jesus stated that we had a responsibility to the less fortunate in our world to feed them and provide them with drink, to take them in, to clothe them, to visit them when they are sick or in prison. Jesus stated that the two greatest commandments for us to live by was to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and body and to love our neighbours as ourselves. All laws rest on these two Commandments. How do you think we have done in this regard? I think we can safely say that within the worldly personalities that we have created for ourselves, we all have fallen short of meeting these challenging goals. It is a good thing that our worldly selves and our worldly experiences are only a fantasy that we have created in our minds and do not represent our true spiritual natures.

The good news in all of this is that many of us are becoming more and more aware of our spiritual identities and our relationship to Divinity. You cannot awaken to your relationship to God and your relationship to your brothers and sisters and not have empathy, compassion and loving concern for them over the tragic life circumstances they find themselves enduring in their worldly drama. We are seeing clearly that the world our ego-centric personalities have created does not reflect our highest natures. We are becoming more and more aware that it is time for change and each of us in our own way has a significant role to play in bringing about our transition to a new world.. As part of this transition we will place leaders in authority over us with integrity who will focus on their fellow citizens as though they were members of their extended families. We are on the cusp of an amazing change which will eliminate all separation, conflict and division in our world. In the spirit of unity and forgiveness accept your responsibility to bring love, peace, joy and healing into our world. You have the power within yourself to bring about this positive change. Remember you are not alone in this. You are never alone.
